Men’s Salomon Wings Flyte 2 Trail Running Shoe – Review
I purchased this Trail shoe a few weeks back and I am very pleased with it. I do a fair amount of running and hiking in the Midwest area on trails that consist of gravel, dirt, small rocks, tree roots, and the occasional horse patty. I needed a shoe that was light, sturdy, and gave my feet excellent support – I found it.
The Salomon Wings Flyte 2 is a great choice for trail running and light hiking. The shoe has great support – I suffer from Plantar Fasciitis so I really needed a shoe with exceptional midsole support, which this shoe provides. The shoe has good ventilation so your feet will not get too hot, an aggressive sole that provides great traction for just about any surface short of larger rocks. The toe box provides ample room and keeps toes from rubbing together or rubbing the shoe.
One of the more appealing features of this shoe for me is the lacing cinch – I have seen other shoes out there with this feature but I feel Salomon has gotten it down pretty well. I am including a short video of the shoe on my foot as I cinch the lace, and as you can see, it pulls the entire lacing area around my foot. The shoe pulls in snug across the foot and makes the fit and comfort so much better. The fastener appears to work very well – We’ll see how it holds up over time since it is plastic. Try these shoes if you are looking for a trail runner/light hiker. Thanks for looking and hope you give this shoe a try.
